Basic accounting course, but here’s a hint: find a different professor. Doesn’t teach, doesn’t care, and in the long run, you get screwed in your higher level classes farther down the road.
Hugh Agnew is a natural-born genius. Either that, or he has read and studied A LOT. This teach is brilliant! His lectures can get boring and drawn, but don’t let that keep your from jotting down notes like a mad person. You’ll need for the exams. Also…don’t expect an A, he’s a great guy and very nice…but don’t expect an A.
Ugghhh, this class was something ugly. The lecturing is fine, it keeps you awake depending on how funny/pompous a mood one’s in. The TAs are beyond bad and will give you an attitude over the slightest question. All the paper requirements are unclear and vague, but the grading system seems to be very specific -- it's a lose-lose situation. Think ya wanna give this class a spin? Or a second thought?
Here’s a class that makes all your nightmares come true. If you’re not interested in Art History and looking for an elective to breeze in shy away from Professor Jacks. He’s condescending, pompous, the exams are friggin’ hard, get the point? I mean, the guy is informative and certainly knows his stuff, but he doesn’t do a good job relaying that information. Oh, you have questions? Don’t expect to get help outside of class.
Professor Samaniego is somewhere in between Professor Dunn and Professor Trost from what I’ve heard. I’d only recommend him if you can’t get Trost, and Dunn is the only other option.
What a passionate man! Whether or not he succeeds, he totally tries to make his lectures as interesting and involved as possible (unlike some professors here, he does want to be considered an enjoyable lecturer). The only downside is grading, he can be a bit rough. But, if you aren’t a slacker you will do just fine!
Math 51 and 52 are your calculus classes if you’re in the business school. (I’m not sure if they apply to the liberal arts school.) Professor Moses gives open book quizzes and homework assignments to offset your midterm and final grades. Moses is a very good professor and knows his stuff. The class is boring and luckily in a lecture hall, so attendance isn’t required. However, I suggest you do attend as it’s the best way to understand math. The exams are straightforward and exactly what you’d expect.
Haha wow, I didn’t understand a single word this man said all semester. He seems to know what he’s talking about (whatever it is). His exams are ROUGH. I happened to do well, but the class grades were pretty brutal. His quizzes are easy, his homeworks are not. I despised this class. It was early and I had no friends in the class . This class almost led to therapy, especially when I did the group project all by myself. Most be slack on the project, get it done ahead of time, you’ll have less to worry about in this class.
I doubt she’s still teaching since I received the impression that she was only around for the semester. Anyway, she’s the head of the D.C. are People Magazine and taught Celebrity Journalism. It was an awesome class, mostly female students and it met once a week for 3 hours. You have to write 4 papers all of which were easy to do (they do not require a lot of research). The papers are essentially long articles about a celebrity of your choice. She’s very nice and pretty lenient.
This guy is a ball of energy. He talks fast and knows what he’s talking about. He’s really passionate about what he’s teaching and wants everyone to know all that he has to share. The readings are beyond boring if you’re just taking this is an elective. He does add his own jokes in during class which helps keep it upbeat and he is pretty good at it. He doesn't take attendance, but you'll be lost if you don't go. He definitely breaks ideas down better than the text which is written like a graduate level philosophy text.
